Robert Daniel Alexander (born June 17, 1955 in Houston, Texas) was a tackle and guard who played thirteen seasons in the National Football League for the New York Jets.[2] Dan was draft from Louisiana State University in the 8th round of the 1977 NFL draft.

From this rather humble draft position, Dan Alexander managed to earn a spot on the AFC Pro Bowl team in both 1976 and 1977. He was popular with teammates, and displayed a humorous side both on and off the field.
